This is the type of form that gyms, yoga studios and many private teachers require you to fill in. You may be new to yoga or increasing the amount of physical activity in your life and the completion of PAR-Q is designed to keep us all fully informed and to make sure the recommended exercise is suitable for you.
For most people, physical activity should not be a problem. However, a yoga teacher will always want to know about injuries, conditions or pregnancy. Please don’t dismiss these questions. The best health and wellness can only come from exercise. But yoga might, for example, aggravate arthritis. Some postures are inadvisable for pregnancy. There are plenty of modifications available in yoga but a teacher needs to be fully informed.
This PAR-Q seeks to identify people who need a doctor’s advice before taking up yoga.
